What: Game 3

[ Another day, another blast of the trumpets, another game.

Exael is there this time, in her human guise, standing in the center of the arena, and in the center of a giant circular mirror with a clock face painted on, that has been installed in the floor beneath her.

Both of the painted hands are currently pointed towards XII

Exael raises both her arms with a flourish and calls out as people enter: ]

Come one, come all! Take your positions, for soon the curtains will rise on our next act!

[still sitting at the dining hall, though feeling rather peculiar.]

Wait...what just happened? Violette? I feel funny.

What is going on with this food?

[A flash of anger crosses her face]

[Isn't angry...but certainly not eating any more of the food.]

[Tosses the bread rolls from her clothing onto the table]

I don't like this. What the hell is happening?

Not sure...but, it's a little unsettling.

Funny how?

Funny like my teeth hurt and I still feel hungry despite eating something just a second ago.

Your teeth hurt? How the hell can teeth hurt?

Well, my teeth don't hurt persay. It's more like when I was a kid and my adult teeth were growing in and pushing out my baby teeth? I think?

...that's kinda weird.

You're telling me. I don't know if I want to eat any more of this food now.

Indubitably. Though Violette has yet to answer my question about what's going on.

Maybe she doesn't know, either.

Sounds like she thinks we headed out already.

Well, I thought you were going to head out with Travis and Rose?

We were gonna. Then it got dark all of a sudden.

Yeah...this whole thing is very odd.

It's like that clock pushed us forward or something.

Maybe we should go out and check out the clock itself?

That's not gonna put us any closer to the key. Or to this kid's team.

Well, they clearly aren't in here. Unless we are supposed to eat all the food, I'm not sure how much more we can do here.

So we better start looking.

Either way, I feel like I'm at the start of a pretty big downer.

[starts searching around the table for a key of some sort.]

[ nope. lots and lots of food, but no key anywhere on the surface ]

[starts sifting through the food, shoving pastries and plates of meat out of the way to search around.]
