[ Another day, another blast of the trumpets, another game.

Exael is there this time, in her human guise, standing in the center of the arena, and in the center of a giant circular mirror with a clock face painted on, that has been installed in the floor beneath her.

Both of the painted hands are currently pointed towards XII

Exael raises both her arms with a flourish and calls out as people enter: ]

Come one, come all! Take your positions, for soon the curtains will rise on our next act!

[ in the garden, by the plot the trowel is gone, replaced with a full-sized shovel. and a change has been made to the hand-written note.

but growing in the center, monstrously large almost like massive lengths of barbed wire, looped in on themselves and overflowing from the plot are thorned rose bushes. the buds themselves are stunted but on the wood are the most wicked, lush thorns you have ever seen. ]

and you're really lucky you got the pheonix. where the thorns tore the skin, the pheonix comes nuzzle and heal ]
