What: It begins.

[ it's morning, and though there's no shrill of an alarm or sunlight streaming in through windows, you've all just woken up. probably. That would account for why you seem to be in bed, and why you don't remember doing anything before this. It must have been a nice restful sleep.

. . . actually, maybe the reason you don't remember doing anything isn't related to having just woken up at all. if you search your mind, you'll find your recollection totally blank.

[ hums a bit, nonchalant. What a serious face in response to a joke. He shrugs it off, but his next response is more serious, for all that he keeps his tone casual ]

[ his eyes narrow a bit at "junior" but he doesn't comment. he doesn't even know why the nickname grates, especially since he started it. it's better to ignore for now. ]

Second, how do we know the book's for real?

...that's an awful specific question.

[ puts a hand on a sink spigot, playing with the water. It's an excuse to stay where he can continue the conversation, without looking like he changed his mind. It's important to make sure it's clean, and if the hot and cold run properly, after all ]
