[ it's morning, and though there's no shrill of an alarm or sunlight streaming in through windows, you've all just woken up. probably. That would account for why you seem to be in bed, and why you don't remember doing anything before this. It must have been a nice restful sleep.

. . . actually, maybe the reason you don't remember doing anything isn't related to having just woken up at all. if you search your mind, you'll find your recollection totally blank.

Performers? [ he hadn't heard about that theory. but it's mostly a rhetorical question, he figures it's around the lines of his speculation on soldiers.

Maybe we were something like stagehands.

[ checking the ground when they get there- what kind of ground covering is it, if it's dirt are there identifiable scuff marks/patterns from footsteps and movement- even as he looks around for a door ]

[ it was grass, once upon a time, but it's all long withered by now. there's dried remnants and a lot of dirt, and the dead grass and occasional stunted weed makes it difficult to see any identifiable pattern of footprints or other tracks through the dirt ]

[ a pinprick of red light flares into existence in the center of his pupils, the glow rimming his irises and he raises his hand up, two fingers pointing at him. two abyssal rings encircle his target, the red glow bleeding off into the air and leaving him unable to do.

[ he does, for a bit, observing the lock's effect before remembering himself and drawing closer, releasing the lock. he looks. . . a little blank? Covering up something, but he stretches his hand out to help him back up ]

You're okay? It's all defensive. [ I think, he doesn't voice, but the rambling is atypical of him. ] Nothing can effect you while you're in there. Can't be moved, hurt, can't hurt anyone.
