I am not sure what that was all about. I remembered dying...but then not being able to stay dead. And I just remember this profound feeling of disappointment at not being to stay dead because that meant I couldn't stay with Death.

The hell's that even mean?

I don't know...It's all rather disconcerting. The only thing that makes sort-of sense is that I can't die.

Newsflash, buddy. That doesn't actually make a whole lot of sense.

I know that. I'm just saying though out of the whole thing making no sense, that is the closest bit to making sense that there is.

The memory was just of me dying. And I saw Death...she was a woman. And she was happy to see me, but then she said that I couldn't stay. She said that as long as I couldn't die, we could never be together.

[What do you even say to that?]

So she... what? Sent you back?

I think so? It felt more like I was ripped away from her. And it was really sad. I'm not sure why I felt so sad that I couldn't be with her, though.

...dunno.

If you're stuck in the land of the living, though, guess we better work on making sure you're havin' a good time while you're here.

Yeah, that is true. I am slightly curious as to why I wanted to stay with her. Or why she wanted me to stay.

Though...I wonder if I still can't die? I mean, in here, things seem to be working a bit differently, you know?

I was turning eighteen, and me and a couple guys I knew were holed up in the kinda place where you don't have parties.

One of those idiots went and dug up a cake somewhere anyway. Blew our cover clean open.

Huh, sounds like a good time. Though what kind of place doesn't let you have parties?

Dunno where it was. It was crawling with Nazis, though.
